About The LRC

Our team at The Labor Relations Connection, Inc. possess the skills needed to provide parties with the same efficient, friendly and professional services that have come to be the hallmarks of our company.

Jan Teehan established The Labor Relations Connections in 1984 with the goal to provide case administration that is personalized, swift, accurate, and responsive to the needs of both Unions and Employers. Her 43 years of experience in Labor Arbitration, both as a Case Administrator and Administrative Leader, has created a strong backbone of hard work, dedication, and integrity which she has passed on to her team. Under Jan’s guidance, training, and steady supervision, her team of Case Administrators address the day to day needs of the parties, and carefully and effectively move cases through the administrative process. The team works closely together, finding solutions to complex issues and emergencies that may arise during the administration of a case.

While growing up in New York, my family and I spent many summers on Cape Cod. I met my husband soon after graduating from Boston University and we resided in Boston for eleven years. In 1984, we moved to Sandwich on Cape Cod. We have two adult sons, Matthew and Jacob, who also reside on the Cape.

During the 1990s, I became active in local politics and held several appointed and elected positions in Town Government. I was first appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals, then elected to two terms on the Board of Selectmen and subsequently two terms as Town Moderator. After losing sixty-five pounds, I also became a Weight Watchers leader and served for 25 years to help others reach their weight loss goals. I decided to leave public office and Weight Watchers to focus on The LRC and to spend more time with my family.

In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, working in my large perennial gardens, and spending precious time with my family and friends. Many are surprised to learn that I’ve been an avid fisherman my entire life. Fishing, either by myself or with my son, on the magnificent Cape Cod ponds is one of my favorite activities.

I had first heard of The Labor Relations Connection on Friday, October 20, 2017, just a few months after graduating from UMass Dartmouth. I still remember the butterflies in my stomach as Jan approached the pharmacy counter offering me the chance to see what The LRC is all about.

It’s been five years since officially joining the team and not a day goes by where I don’t cherish this opportunity. Every day brings new challenges and excitement!

While I washed ashore in the late 1990s, I’ve grown to love the sense of community here on the Cape. I reached the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 16 while being involved with various rehabilitation projects along the Canal. Having been a dog person most of my life, my eyes were opened after rescuing a short hair calico in early 2018 by the name of Dublin.

In my free time I enjoy cooking and reading, especially curling up with the cat and a book amidst torrential downpours.

I was born and raised in Central Florida. I moved to Cape Cod in 2018 and graduated from Wheaton College (MA) in 2022. I’m The LRC’s newest staff member; I’m very excited and honored to be here.

In my free time, I enjoy reading fiction and paleontology journals, creative writing, cuddling with my two dogs, and taking weekend trips with my partner. When I was younger, I wanted to write a book, but I’m not sure if that’s something I’m going to pursue. Otherwise, I’m attempting to teach myself how to knit and re-teach myself to play flute, which I played in my high school marching band.

I was adopted from the local MSPCA by Jan in 2011 at 10 months old and have happily lived with her since! I love being pet, playing with paperclips, and napping on open files that the humans may or may not be currently using. I like ice in my water fountain and have recently developed a love of tuna cat treats. When I’m not in the office, I’m usually napping on beds or looking out the windows at Jan’s gardens (and birds).
